Check Em' Out!
I wanted to leave you two new blogs to read.
The first is my girl Whitney. I love her. She is really very funny and I admire her a great deal. I count her to be one of my best friends.
The second is my friend Tammy who just adopted from China. She put up a video of Gracie giggling. Cute.

School Days, Olympics and Babies Adopted in China
Well, today was the first day of school. That means my little appendage started High School. When I woke him up this morning, he was excited. As we got closer to school, he grew more nervous. He didn't know where to go or what to do and he didn't know who he would sit with at lunch. I pointed to the building about 20 football fields away and told him that is where he was to go first. Then I told him that High School is a clean slate. Start over - find your old friends and make new ones. Every single 9th grader feels the same way. I just wanted to hug him and hold his hand and walk him to class like I did when he was five years old. But I didn't.
But Jake, as we pulled away, leaned out the window and yelled, "We LOVE you, Cole". Cole turned eight shades of red and shook his head. But I did see his little grin before he turned away embarrassed. I love my kids. We live to embarrass each other!
So, then I dropped Jakie off at Middle School and he was stoked to go. He barely let me stop before he was out of the car looking for his friends. Bless it.
I want to call their cell phones so badly - I can't wait to find out how they are doing.
We are going to dinner tonite with Kathy Boo and Jake Boo for a first day of school celebration!!!
On to the Olympics. Are you WATCHING the Olympics? We watched the opening ceremonies and we watched Phelps win his 1st gold of the Olympics on Saturday and his we watched gymnastics and swimming last night.
Did you SEE last night's men's swimming relay? Oh EMMMMM GEEEEEEEE. You have got to see it if you missed it. I was talking to Susan and we were yelling and I was jumping up and down. It was incredible. If Lezak had shorter fingers, France would have one. Find the video. It is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Yes, Jimmy, I said amazing. Because it truly was. If you have not watched the Olympics at all, you are unAmerican.
On of my volunteers is adopting a little girl in China. I'm so happy for her and her husband. They lost their daughter to cancer four years ago and adopted their daughter from China exactly four years later. To the day. God is good. So cool.
Happy Monday!

On Sunday, I made the boys go to the sunflower fields at Shelby Farms and stand in the middle of bee and wasp infested sunflowers so I could take some pics. My intention was to get something sweet for Christmas cards.
Knowing my children as I do, I knew I wouldn't get a straight face. And I didn't. But I love the pics anyway. My kids crack me up!
We have a peacock who lives behind one of the offices in our office park. He is beautiful. Apparently he has been here for about two years. The Memphis Zoo didn't want him, so here he lives.
Brett Favre keeps proving to be an idiot and I'm so disappointed in him.
School starts Monday and tonight is registration. Where did I get a High Schooler? It makes me very sad :(
Hope you enjoy the slideshow!
